Clinical Perspective

Why Choose Testosterone Therapy?

Some men experience symptoms related to clinically low testosterone levels. A medical evaluation is required to determine whether testosterone deficiency is present. At StrongHealth DPC, we evaluate your hormone levels, symptoms, medical history, and long-term health risks to determine whether testosterone therapy is right for you.

Our approach is science-driven, safe, and tailored to your goals without pushing unnecessary treatment.

Common Symptoms of Low Testosterone

Low libido
Fatigue or low energy

Brain fog

Increased body fat
Loss of muscle or strength
Low mood or irritability
Slow recovery from exercise

If these symptoms are affecting your life, a men's health evaluation may help.

How Testosterone Therapy Works

Men's Health Consultation ($125)

A comprehensive telehealth visit to review symptoms, medical history, and previous labs. We'll determine what labs you need and discuss treatment options.

Lab Testing

Use insurance, cash-pay labs, or discounted lab pricing. We review testosterone, CBC, CMP, PSA, and other key markers.

Personalized Treatment Plan

If medically appropriate, we create a plan for testosterone replacement and sexual health treatment when medically indicated.

Ongoing Monitoring

Testosterone therapy requires ongoing laboratory monitoring at 3–6 month intervals to ensure safety and effectiveness. Refills are contingent on updated labs — not automatic.

Pharmacy Pickup

Testosterone typically costs $20–$50/month using GoodRx at Publix, Walmart, or Costco.

Affordable Medication

Testosterone is dispensed through your local pharmacy. Most men pay:

$40–$60

Per vial

10 mL testosterone cypionate, lasts several weeks

~$10

Monthly supplies

Syringes and injection supplies

$20–$50

Total per month

Depends on dose and pharmacy pricing

Prescriptions are sent to your pharmacy of choice. Use GoodRx at Publix, Walmart, or Costco. Medication pricing is determined by the pharmacy.

Is Testosterone Therapy Right for You?

You may benefit from an evaluation if you're experiencing:

  • Persistent fatigue or low motivation
  • Decreased strength or endurance
  • Sexual health concerns
  • Weight gain or decreased muscle
  • Mood changes or irritability
  • Symptoms consistent with testosterone deficiency

A single $125 telehealth visit can clarify whether testosterone therapy or another cause is behind your symptoms.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Testosterone is prescribed only when medically appropriate based on symptoms, medical history, and confirmed labs.

Most men need two separate morning testosterone levels before starting treatment.

No. You can be seen as a non-member for $125/visit — no monthly commitment. If you want ongoing primary care + TRT management included, membership is $95/month.

The $95/month membership includes primary care + TRT management: hormone monitoring, secure messaging, dose adjustments, lab ordering, and PDMP checks. Labs and medications are still billed separately.

Most men pay $20–$50/month using GoodRx at Publix, Walmart, or Costco. Prescriptions are sent to your pharmacy of choice.

Many men notice improvements in:

  • • Energy and libido within 3–6 weeks
  • • Mood and sleep over 8–12 weeks
  • • Strength and body composition in 3–6 months

Follow-ups are required every 3–6 months to review labs, adjust dosing, and ensure safety. For non-members, each visit is $125. Members have follow-ups included in their $95/month membership.

Yes. Testosterone therapy can lower sperm counts while on treatment. If you're planning to have children, we will discuss alternatives before starting TRT.

Current evidence shows TRT does not increase prostate cancer risk when levels are restored to normal. We monitor PSA regularly for safety.

Yes — all visits, evaluations, treatment planning, and messaging are 100% virtual and private.

No. Current evidence does not support testosterone therapy for prevention of cardiovascular disease. Therapy is prescribed only for confirmed testosterone deficiency with appropriate clinical indications.

Not usually. We need your labs first to determine whether TRT is medically appropriate and safe. Your initial $125 visit will explain exactly what you need.

Medical Eligibility Requirements

Testosterone therapy is prescribed only when all of the following are met:

  • 1. Symptoms consistent with testosterone deficiency are present
  • 2. Two separate morning testosterone levels (drawn fasting between 8–10 AM) confirm low levels
  • 3. No contraindications are identified on medical review

Testosterone therapy is not appropriate for men with: normal testosterone levels, active prostate cancer, elevated hematocrit, untreated severe sleep apnea, recent heart attack or stroke, or men actively trying to conceive.

Why We Do Not Prescribe

We do not prescribe testosterone for:

  • × Anti-aging or longevity purposes
  • × Athletic enhancement or bodybuilding
  • × Men with testosterone levels in the normal range

Important: Testosterone Therapy and Fertility

Testosterone therapy suppresses sperm production and may impair fertility. Men planning to have children in the future should discuss alternative treatment options with Dr. Shah before starting TRT. Refills are contingent on updated laboratory results — testosterone is not automatically refilled without monitoring.
